Inge van der Heijden returns from Tabor (Czech Republic) to the Netherlands with a satisfied feeling. She finished seventeenth on Saturday in the World Cup cross. Countrywoman Lucinda Brand was the strongest.
Inge: "I had a good start, but was held up on a short climb. It was very slippery and many riders slided back down again. I fell behind and started a catch-up race. I returned to a thirteenth position and was racing alright. In the last lap, it became a bit too much and I was dropped. All in all, I am satisfied with the race."
The cyclo-cross in Tabor was the fourth one of the World Cup this season. Marianne Vos, who did not participate, is still in the lead in the classification. She resumes her cross-season next week in Koksijde (Belgium) after a short break.
